A leakage tester is used to detect and measure the escape of liquids, gases, or vacuum from sealed systems and components. It works by applying pressure to identify defects that may cause leaks. When leakage occurs, substances naturally flow from areas of higher pressure to lower pressure. In a basic leak decay test, pressure is applied to a specific volume, then isolated, and any pressure change is monitored over time. The collected data helps determine the leak rate. Additionally, using a 3/2 (three-way) and a 2/2 (two-way) valve in series enables effective isolation of pressure within the test volume for accurate results.
